DaDa

Elaborating my interest in surrealism, I looked into the beginning of the postmodernist era of the DADA. I wanted to do this because in previous projects I have used it as inspiration but with this project I definitely wanted to use the DADA art movement and research more examples of how it can relate to my work.

'Dada artists felt the war called into question every aspect of society capable of starting and then prolonging it- including its art.'

'While the guns rumbled in the distance, we sang, painted, made collages and wrote poems with all our might.'

The photo displayed from work by Raoul Hausmann, really stood out to me in the sense that it shows a range of collage and text . I really like this combination of text and imagery together to create an outcome and I could try and experiment something like that in developing my project. The text I could combine with imagery, could be poetry and book pages.
