I wanted to incorporate the uncanny concept, because the figures I have painted convey a sense of disturbance to the audience.

'Unheimlich therefore was not just unknown, but also. he argued, bringing out something that was hidden or repressed. He called it 'that class of frightening which leads back to what is known of old and long familiar'.

Looking into Leigh Bowery, I came across the extravagance of his work and the way he presents himself to the world as many charcters. I was inspired by the creative icon because his weird and wacky outfits and performative photography, come into some similarity to my project. As well as the uncanny as well. His attire may have been frightening and seemed very strange to the public, but thats what made him so captivating.
